How does Email Counselling Work? PDF Print E-mail

Email Counselling is a fairly simple process, the following summarises what is involved:

  1. Follow the steps outlined in the Getting Started article
  2. You receive 1 Free Hour of counselling before you need to commit to purchasing hours, there is no obligation to purchase hours or continue once this hour has been used up
  3. Depending on time zones and how busy your counsellor is they will generally respond within 24 hours of receiving your emails.  The worst case is usually within 48 hours.  Keep in mind our counsellors work normal business hours Monday to Friday excluding public holidays
  4. You are charged for the time it takes for your counsellor to read and reply to your email.  How long this takes varies depending on the complexity of the issue/email but 15 minutes is quite usual for example
  5. It is hard to predict how long it will take for a counsellor to respond to a particular email.  Sometimes a short email contains more relevant information than a lengthy email
  6. How often you email is also something that is up to you.  For people dedicated to getting results it is common for several emails a week while for other people working on longer term issues one a month maybe more relevant.
  7. The Informed Consent form you agreed to prior to Counselling details most of the things you need to know.  It is important you understand this document
